The
Telegraph: Activists 'won’t blame’ anyone who harasses badger cull
marksmen.
Summary:
To stop the spread of bovine tuberculosis 70 badgers have been shot.
Protesters try to stop the cull by scaring the animals away, carry out
citizen’s arrests and camp near setts to protect badgers. 60 volunteers have
been monitoring setts in the 116 square miles in which the cull is being
tested. The Government is determined to go ahead. Killing the badgers is
necessary to stop the disease from spreading. There has been a voting on the
cull. Mary Creagh says it is dangerous to kill and displace those badgers, it
could still lead to a spread. It would be better to give the badgers a
vaccination to tackle bovine TB instead of a cull.

My opinion:
I understand why they kill the badgers. But if the killing still means
that the disease will spread, I think it is useless to kill these beautiful
animals. I understand that hunters have to shoot rabbits, because there are too
many of them. But I didn’t read anything about the badgers being “overcrowded”.
I also understand that nature lovers want to stop the killing, but I think
those organizations are sometimes exorbitantly in their expressions. I think
that it’s a good solution, vaccinating the badgers, so they can heal and the
disease can’t spread. I think that’s the only solution to this problem.
