Summary:

A clip of Mr Mercer saying he will do it for 1000 pounds a day, is published by Panorama. Mercer admits that he broke the parliamentary rules. He says; In the meantime, to save my party embarrassment, I have resigned the conservative whip and have so informed Sir George Young. My opinion:
I think it’s outrageous that an MP who is earning enough money (I guess), is lobbying outside the parliament, to get more money on behalf of himself. And because he is “famous” he asks even a 1000 pounds for a day. I don’t understand that he is still aloud to stay in the parliament as an independent. I think that if you want to lobby on behalf of your own expense, you have to leave the government instantly. If you work for the government you have to work for the people in your country, not only for the money.
